Hiplife Legend, Reggie Rockstone has replied Shatta Wale in a new video to leave a good legacy behind so his children will be proud of when he (Shatta Wale) is no more.
Wale’s attack on Reggie Rockstone, who has earned an accolade as “grandpapa of hiplife”, stemmed from a seeming beef between the Dancehall artiste and Rapper Sarkodie who recently spit some bars in a latest song dubbed “Sub Zero”.
The “My Level” hit maker was of a strong view that Sarkodie’s rap career has been influenced by Reggie Rockstone and Sarkodie is equally living a fake life like his mentor.
Responding to the claims by Shatta Wale, Reggie Rockstone in an Instagram video lectured him on the impact of hiplife in the entertainment arena.
“Rap is that, that’s the foundation. Matter of fact, let’s rewind again; you started off as a Rapper. Emma ‘Bandana’ and that’s how you, that was your whole transition…Another thing you got to remember is that Dancehall is not too far from Rap…In fact, from the very inception of Hiplife, Dancehall is always been walking side by side with Hiplife or Hip Pop.
“Hold up! It is through rap that I was able to pull in an international collaboration with one of your mentors, the King of Dancehall Beenie Man. That was rap. Oh wait, hold up! I pulled in another one, Wyclef; international megastar, that was through rap. That was a huge impact…Let’s talk about creating jobs…Hiplife definitely [definitely] created jobs…In fact, if anything Nigerians do a lot more singing; Ghanaians are known for rap. We’re very rap-oriented. Hiplife is probably the biggest youth-oriented movement in the history of Ghana”, he stated.
However, in a video, sighted by Ghnewslife.com, the celebrated Hiplife artiste said he lives in his father’s house and it is because his father lived a good life
