Coronavirus forces Akufo-Addo government to close down schools (VIDEO)

The Akufo-Addo led administration on has ordered heads of private and public schools in the country ranging from basic to the university to close down their institution until further notice from the Ministry of Education.

Coronavirus: Gov’t shuts down all schools until further notice

“All Universities, Senior High Schools, and basic schools, i.e. public and private schools, will be closed Monday, 16th March, 2020, till further notice. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, has been tasked to roll out distance learning programmes,” he said.

However the President stated that students who are about to write their WASSCE or BECE exams will be allowed to “attend to school but with prescribed social distancing protocols”.

It has become necessary for government to take such initiative to help safeguard students from spreading the disease as one female student at the university of Ghana was reported to have contracted the disease after she returned from a visit abroad.

The deadly disease is taking is claiming the lives of precious within some few days of contracting it and it becoming scary each day with reported number of people who have died as a result of being infected with Coronavirus. Some countries have closed their borders to foreigners in a bid to help reduce Imported cases of the dosease.

Over 5,000 people have died with 1,134 deaths in Italy alone after the deadly disease got into the country some few days ago.

The deadly disease which was discovered some few months ago is spreading into different parts of the world causing fear and panic among men and women. Symptoms of the deadly virus begins with throat being infected making the patient have sore throat for about 4 day. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia for about five days. After the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing leading to death if no medication is taking. But for now there is no prescribed medication for Coronavirus. However, it is being speculated that one of the cures for coronavirus is by taking in alcoholic drinks which makes the body produce heat and this can kill the virus because the virus needs a cool place to thrive. Also, the sun is another best cure for those who have contracted the disease because the virus hates heat.
