Leader and fouder of the Action Chapel, Arch Bishop Nicholas Duncan Williams has declared that no Ghanaian either abroad or home will not die of the deadly coronavirus which is spreading like wildfire in the entire globe with 145,816 reported cases and has claimed 5,438 lives.
Countries with reprted cases of coronavirus in Africa alone include: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire), Kenya, Nigeria,, Senegal, South Africa, Togo.
The deadly disease which was discovered some few months ago is spreading into different parts of the world causing fear and panic among men and women. Symptoms of the deadly virus begins with throat being infected making the patient have sore throat for about 4 day. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia for about five days. After the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing leading to death if no medication is taking. But for now there is no prescribed medication for Coronavirus. However, it is being speculated that one of the cures for coronavirus is by taking in alcoholic drinks which makes the body produce heat and this can kill the virus because the virus needs a cool place to thrive. Also, the sun is another best cure for those who have contracted the disease because the virus hates heat.
One can prevent himself or herself from contracting the deadly pandemic is by washing one’s hand for about two to three minutes under a running water after coming from a public gathering when handshake cannot be overlooked. Drinking a lot of water helps prevent one from easily contracting the disease. Using of hand sanitizer is the also good. We are also told avoid hugs and use our body language to greet.
Reacting to the deadly disease, the man of God noted that coronavirus has no place in Ghana and it will not survive in any Ghanaian body thereby asking his congregants to fast for 72 hours to seek God’s favour in averting the deadly disease from claiming the lives of any Ghanaian in the country or abroad. Bishop Duncan Williams believes it is only the hands of God that can help save the country in this hard time where most countries are recording increase of the deadly coronavirus.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this virus is an imminent danger. It’s a danger against humanity, its conspiracy against the human race, it is evil; that’s why we will not put our trust in the arm of flesh, that’s why we shall call upon the name of the Lord. For it is written: ‘Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered’.
“And I’m calling for 72-hour prayers beginning from tomorrow [Monday, 9 March 2020] that we will pray to secure our airwaves, to secure our borders and our high seas and waters and rivers that the plague will not enter this country, that the virus is not accessing our airwaves, that there will be no loss of life of any Ghanaian home and abroad by the reason of this virus”.
