The Deputy National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Perpetual Lomokie Akwada has said that if Ghanaians were able to survive the hard conditions the then Ntional Democratic Congress government subjected the good people of Ghana to then, the deadly disease, will be a thing of the past in some few months to come because Ghanaians will be able to also survive the pandemic which has claimed the lives of 5,348 people.
She wrote: “We survived 8 years of NDC, what is Coronavirus?
Nb: let’s stay safe though. 😊”
Her comments which have been condemned by members of the opposition National Democratic Congress was in reaction to a comment made by NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor that President Akufo-Addo knew something about COVID 19 case which involves two people with one being a Ghanaian and the other one a Norwegian before his address to the nation.
The two is said to have started showing signs of coronavirus and reported to a hospital which was confirmed they tested positive.
According to Perpetual, the rule of the NDC brought untold hardships on Ghanaians with no better governance but creates and loot agenda all the time at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian thereby making life difficult for all. She believes the NDC is doing politics with such a serious issue to win cheap political point and for that Ghanaians should disregard the propaganda agenda by members of the National Democratic Congress.
Meanwhile Information Minister, Kojo Oppong- Nkrumah has said government is bent on canceling travels by government officials and also putting things in place to help fight the pandemic should any case of the disease starts spreading in the country. For this the President on Thursday announced that it has procured 100 million dollars for the Ministry of Health to help fight the pandemic. It has been reported today a Ghanaian who works at one of the mining companies at Obuasi is believed to have contracted the disease because of the signs he is showing and his blood sample has been sent to the Nugochi Health center to test if indeed he has contracted the deadly disease spreading like wildfire to different parts of the world.
Coronavirus has been declared as a pandemic by World Health Organization because of how the disease is claiming a lot of precious lives after some few months and it has become an emergency for many countries to put in measures to curb the spread of the disease as some counties including Ghana has put a ban on public officials from international travels.
